Allowances:

In addition to salary, TSC has introduced several allowances to support teachers in different circumstances:

  • Housing Allowance: Between Ksh. 3,850 and Ksh. 50,000 per month, with higher allocations for urban postings.
  • Commuter Allowance: Between Ksh. 4,000 and Ksh. 16,000 per month, depending on grade, to cover transport costs.
  • Leave Allowance: Ranges from Ksh. 4,000 to Ksh. 10,000 annually.
  • Hardship Allowance: Monthly amounts ranging from Ksh. 6,600 to Ksh. 38,100 for teachers in hardship areas.

These allowances are designed to reflect the varying conditions of teaching, taking into account both urban living costs and challenges faced in remote areas.

By aligning pay with responsibility and experience, the TSC salary increases promote fairness and recognize the commitment educators make to shaping future generations. These changes also aim to make teaching a more sustainable and rewarding profession, encouraging teachers to stay motivated and dedicated.

For high school teachers under TSC, stay informed through official communication channels. If you have any questions about how these changes apply to you, consult your school administrator or visit the TSC website for more details.
