CS Murkomen Outlines Why Kindiki is Fit to Become Kenya’s President”

On March 14, 2025, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen praised Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, urging the Meru community and all Kenyans to support him.

Speaking at a public gathering in Meru, Murkomen dismissed claims that Kindiki’s political ambitions were limited by the size of his ethnic group. He emphasized that Kindiki’s potential as a leader should not be defined by tribal affiliations.

“Jesus Christ was born to a carpenter, and many considered him insignificant. The challenges facing the Meru people are the same as those affecting all Kenyans. So, why spread lies that turn people against the government? Let’s unite and support Deputy President Kindiki and President William Ruto in fulfilling their promises,” Murkomen stated.

Murkomen credited Kindiki’s leadership success to the foundation laid by Meru elders, including prominent politician Kiraitu Murungi.

“Kindiki is reaping the benefits of the groundwork laid by your elders, like Kiraitu Murungi. These efforts are now starting to show results. He is capable of leading this country if we stop focusing on tribal politics,” he added.

Reflecting on his personal relationship with Kindiki, Murkomen recalled their university days when Kindiki was his lecturer.

“I worked with Kindiki when he was a senator, and I know him to be God-fearing. His name, Abraham, reflects his humble and hardworking nature. He cannot be distracted by sideshows or conflict with the President,” Murkomen said.

Murkomen also addressed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s claims about the government plotting to remove Chief Justice Martha Koome. He reassured the public that the independence of the Judiciary would be upheld.

“We believe in the Judiciary, and I want to assure you that the government will not interfere with its operations or attempt to remove Chief Justice Koome. I will personally ensure her security and success in office. Don’t be misled by those spreading propaganda,” he concluded.
