Responsibilities:

  • Prepare client quotations, arrange hotel reservations, and create detailed itineraries for various travel destinations.
  • Coordinate client pickups for safaris and airport transfers while negotiating favorable rates with hotels.
  • Maintain accurate client records, handle invoicing, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Develop travel packages for both local and international destinations.
  • Manage product distribution, ensuring that tour packages align with seasonal events and product release schedules.
  • Keep website and social media platforms updated with the latest travel offerings.
  • Generate monthly reports on product performance to assess market impact.
  • Design customized itineraries, calculate costs, and provide clients with competitive price quotations.
  • Handle reservations, bookings, and confirmations for travel and accommodation.
  • Conduct pre-tour briefings to inform clients about booked services, general travel information, and requirements.
  • Follow up with clients post-trip to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.
  • Promote and sell related services, such as travel insurance and airline tickets.
  • Ensure clients obtain the correct travel documents, guide them on visa requirements, and provide a checklist of necessary paperwork.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A relevant university degree or diploma.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience as a Tour Consultant in a busy travel agency.
  • Strong knowledge of both local and international travel destinations.
  • Familiarity with air ticketing (an added advantage).
  • Proficiency in using various tour and hotel booking systems.
  • Experience in online travel sales.
  • Understanding of B2B market segments.
  • Ability to create customized tour packages and itineraries.
  • Comprehensive product knowledge in the travel industry.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationships with industry partners, including hotels, airlines, and ground handlers.
  • Passion and dedication to the travel and tourism industry.

Employment Details:

  • Contract Type: Fixed-term
  • Monthly Salary: 180,000 KES (Compensation is performance-based and depends on individual achievements. The stated amount is an estimate.)
