The highly anticipated interviews for the candidates shortlisted for the positions of Chairperson and Members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) are scheduled to begin on March 24, 2025, at the Edge Convention Center, College of Insurance, South C, Nairobi.
These interviews, designed to fill crucial roles within the electoral body, will take place in two phases.
Candidates vying for the Chairperson position will be interviewed from March 24 to March 26, 2025.
The selection process for IEBC members will follow immediately after, running from March 26 to April 24, 2025.
This recruitment process follows a period of leadership vacancy at the IEBC, resulting from the departure of the previous commissioners.
The appointment of new leaders is expected to restore public trust in the commission as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election.
The interviews will be held at the Edge Convention Center, offering candidates a chance to present their visions for managing Kenya’s electoral processes.
The selection panel, led by Nelson Makanda, will evaluate the candidates’ experience, integrity, and strategic plans for enhancing Kenya’s electoral system.
Out of 37 applicants for the Chairperson position, 11 candidates have been shortlisted, while 105 candidates have been selected for the commissioner roles.
