Businesswoman Killed in Road Accident on Eldoret-Webuye Highway

A businesswoman was killed in a tragic accident on the Eldoret-Webuye highway at the Chimoi slope in Lugari constituency, Kakamega County, on Tuesday. According to eyewitnesses, the woman was a passenger in a lorry transporting maize from Eldoret to Bungoma.
The lorry collided with another vehicle while attempting to avoid a sugarcane truck, causing it to overturn.
Eyewitness Clement stated that the businesswoman died instantly, while the driver survived with minor injuries.
The body of the deceased, who was reportedly from Bungoma, was taken to the Webuye mortuary. Police from Matete police station have since launched an investigation into the incident.
This accident occurred just a day after a separate incident in Lwandet, where a lorry carrying fuel overturned. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the Lwandet crash.
