Ruto Reassures Mt. Kenya Residents: Vows to Prioritize Development and Continue Close Engagement
President William Ruto has reassured the residents of Mt. Kenya that their support during the 2022 election will not be forgotten, stressing that their needs remain a priority for his administration. During his development tour of Nyeri and Laikipia counties, Ruto launched key projects, including electricity connectivity and market development.

Addressing a crowd in Nyeri, Ruto expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from the region, which played a crucial role in his election victory. “You gave me your votes freely, and it is those votes that helped form this government. Do you think I am foolish enough to forget the trust you placed in me?” he asked.
Ruto emphasized that he is personally overseeing the region’s development and ensuring that key infrastructure projects, such as road construction, electricity access, water supply, and market development, are implemented as promised. “In this government, the first person to be asked about this region’s affairs is me. I will ensure your roads are built, electricity connected, markets constructed, and your children educated,” he pledged.

In what seemed to be a subtle response to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s earlier claims of regional neglect, Ruto warned against divisive politics. “There will be no more politics of division, hatred, or marginalization in Kenya. We are united and moving forward together,” he stated.
The president also assured Nyeri residents that his administration would remain closely connected to the region, promising more frequent visits to oversee progress and strengthen ties.
