Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager – Electric will be responsible for the management of new market entry projects and pilot projects for BURN’s electric products. This position is key in managing logistics, operational procedures, and cross-functional coordination and will collaborate closely with the Senior Product Manager to ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities

Market Expansion Execution

  • Oversee the operational setup for new market launches, covering technology integration, warehousing, and office establishment.
  • Manage product shipment, delivery logistics, and stock management.
  • Lead recruitment and resource allocation for local teams in new markets.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to local regulatory and operational standards.

Pilot Program Management

  • Work alongside the Senior Product Manager to implement pilot programs that validate product performance in new markets.
  • Handle logistics for pilot programs, including product distribution, tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Monitor key pilot program metrics and adjust strategies as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the central link between internal teams (Product, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial) and external partners (logistics providers, regulators, and tech partners).
  • Provide stakeholders with operational progress reports, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Align product development schedules with pilot program requirements.

Operational Efficiency

  • Manage budgets for market entry and pilot programs, ensuring cost-effective execution.
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure in newly entered markets.
  • Document and optimize best practices for scaling market entry and pilot operations.

Required Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • At least five years of experience in project management, particularly in logistics, operations, or emerging markets.
  • PMI or PMP certification.
  • Strong ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate multiple workstreams.

Preferred:

  • Background in renewable energy, IoT-based products, or PAYGo solutions.
  • Experience in market entry and product pilot programs in emerging markets.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project and Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and operational challenges in East and West Africa.

Salary Range: Ksh 70,000 – Ksh 100,000 per month
