Role Purpose Statement:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Accountable Manager, the Head of Line Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of line maintenance activities at line stations, ensuring strict adherence to both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements. This pivotal role plays a critical role in ensuring the continued airworthiness, safety, and reliability of the aircraft fleet, contributing directly to Jambojet’s commitment to operational excellence, on-time performance, and its overall success of Jambojet.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Uphold the highest standards of safety in line maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to Jambojet AMO stipulations, internal policies, and Civil Aviation Regulations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans, ensuring timely and cost- effective execution of maintenance activities while minimizing disruptions to flight schedules.
- Lead line maintenance teams in executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring aircraft readiness for flight.
- Assess maintenance operations, address deficiencies through root cause analyses, allocate resources, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate inspections and routine maintenance to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
- Maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system that captures all maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy and traceability in line with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enhance the quality control programs to guarantee the highest level of aircraft maintenance and reliability.
- Manage maintenance personnel, tools, equipment, and facilities effectively to maximize operational efficiency and minimize aircraft downtime.
- Manage the Maintenance Control Centre for efficient planning and prioritization, especially for AOG aircraft, ensuring their prompt return to service.
- Oversee line maintenance safety and security by promptly addressing quality issues, upholding the company’s occupational safety, health, and environmental standards, and proactively implementing preventive measures to guarantee timely incident resolution.
- Lead, mentor, and manage team members to foster a cohesive team and achieve objectives.
Know-How:
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of aircraft systems, in-depth knowledge on aircraft types in the Jambojet fleet.
- Management Skills: Proven experience in managing and supervising maintenance operations; ability to prioritize and allocate resources efficiently.
- Human Relations Skills: Effective communication capabilities across diverse teams and departments; strong leadership and coaching abilities.
- Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements, including KCAA standards, combined with expertise in DHC-8-400 maintenance procedures, advanced diagnostic tools, and familiarity with overarching aviation regulations.

Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dynamic low-cost carrier line maintenance environment.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications. Membership to professional bodies is an added advantage.
