“KICC to Revolutionize Nairobi’s Skyline with AI-Powered Dancing Water Fountains”

The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) is poised to transform Nairobi’s urban landscape with an exciting new attraction—cutting-edge dancing water fountains.
The Ksh100 million project, designed to elevate the visitor experience, will showcase an impressive blend of water, light, and music. Inspired by Dubai’s world-famous water shows, the fountains will use artificial intelligence and robotics to synchronize their movements, creating a breathtaking spectacle for all to enjoy.
A Game-Changer for Events and Tourism
KICC’s Chief Executive Officer James Mwaura spoke about how the fountains will enhance the convention center’s appeal, stating, “This attraction will not only captivate visitors but will also serve as a unique centerpiece for local and international events, trade shows, gala dinners, and entertainment productions. It adds a dynamic visual and sensory element that differentiates Kenya from the competition.”
KICC’s Director of Business Development, Geoffrey Thande, agreed, emphasizing that this initiative is part of Kenya’s efforts to boost its standing in the global tourism and business sectors. The fountains are expected to draw both corporate and leisure travelers seeking a distinctive experience in Nairobi’s central business district.
“The installation of the dancing fountains at KICC adds a new dimension to our Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) offerings. Kenya is positioning itself as a premier MICE destination, and this feature complements the experiences delegates will have at KICC,” Thande said

A Commitment to Sustainability
The project also incorporates eco-friendly elements. KICC’s Technical Services Manager, Robert Ochieng, highlighted that the fountains will be powered by solar energy and feature a self-cleaning robotic system that recycles water, reducing waste. This aligns with global sustainability goals and emphasizes Kenya’s dedication to environmentally conscious development.
A New Hub for Entertainment and Cultural Showcases
Beyond business and tourism, the fountains will establish KICC as a hub for entertainment. The center plans to host weekend themed shows, family performances, and cultural events, attracting both locals and tourists.
Mwaura also revealed plans to seek government approval to restrict road access to KICC on Saturdays, ensuring uninterrupted fountain performances. This move is expected to draw large crowds and solidify KICC’s position as a top regional entertainment destination.
“The introduction of the fountains is a testament to our commitment to offering top-tier amenities for our guests and clients,” Mwaura affirmed.
Grand Unveiling Set for March
KICC is preparing for an exclusive launch event at the end of March. The showcase will feature live music, special effects, and an invitation-only audience, including corporate executives, event planners, and media representatives.
This event will not only unveil the stunning fountains but also highlight Nairobi’s status as a premier MICE destination.
In addition to the fountains, KICC is expanding its portfolio by developing two new products aimed at enhancing the venue’s appeal for corporate and leisure events.
“This feature is expected to be a major attraction for business events, offering delegates a new, innovative way to create memorable experiences while at the Centre,” Mwaura concluded
